Not content with hammering the UK supermarket industry into submission it seems that the giant which is Tesco is now looking further afield for their future business lines.  Tesco finance and Tesco insurance have all been around for a while now and continue to add more funds to the Tesco pot, but now they have introduced Tesco Diets – to be expected I suppose when they sell all of the goods you will want to buy!

The diet side is doing very well with over 300,000 online members each paying a monthly fee to be part of the “online club”.  The vast array of information available includes a personal planner, personal analysis of your situation and a dietary plan which is tailored for your needs.  The beauty of the service is the fact that it is targeted at individuals and assumes that no two people are the same, or require the same.  So what next for Tesco?

After coming under fire of late for storing up property which they are unlikely to use in the near future, they will probably be looking to venture out into other areas of business.  Homes have been mentioned and there are plans to greatly improve and expand the online facility which is basically just a marker at the moment.

The group are also expanding into the US, a place which has been a graveyard for so may UK companies, although their small venture into this area is doing well so far.  However, the UK market is very different from the US market and it will be interesting to see how they are able to cope with this in the future.  Looking towards the UK, there are so many new areas they can look to due to their massive customer base, just waiting to be hit with an array of offers and services!
