While they were the cream of the crop in their time, it seems that 19 years after their last live concert, rock legends Led Zeppelin still have a massive following. They have announced plans for a one off performance at a tribute concert for Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, the man who original discovered Led Zeppelin.
The concert will take place on the 26th November at London’s O2 Arena, and while there had been expected to be great demand for tickets, promoters have revealed that upwards of 20 million people have expressed an interest in attending the concert, with fans registering on the website at a rate of 80,000 per minute!
Such is the strain on the internet systems of the O2 Arena and the tribute site that sites have crashed, and it has caused all manner of system problems. While the original members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones will be in attendance, the place of the late John Bonham will be taken by his son Jason Bonham.
It promises to be the concert of concerts although who will actually be able to attend will come down to the dreaded lottery system. Good luck!
